C’MUN Portal

The C’MUN Portal is a Web platform to help manage the Catalonia Model United Nations. The portal started as a small platform to manage registrations, by far the most challenging conference task in terms of information management. Having a web platform allowed us to guarantee a standard and centralized management of information and communication with delegates. It quickly added other features to avoid time-consuming tasks that could be automated, like the newsletter, committee documents, or the schedule. After a couple of years of improvements, the Portal can automate more complex tasks such as badge and ticket printing, manage fees and the public information of the secretariat and other organizers that appear on our website, automate in-venue registrations, get conference statistics, and allows delegates to upload and read the position papers of their committee. I also developed several APIs that provide useful information to other pages and systems of the conference like data about countries, international organizations and governments, information about the conference, and country flags.
