The matter of environmental migrants

The 1951 Geneva Convention protects refugees as those escaping from violent conflicts and political persecution. Every year, millions of people are driven out of their homes by natural disasters related to climate change, without any kind of refugee consideration from the international community. Should the world take responsibility for the consequences of its actions? Are natural catastrophes out of the charge of the United Nations? This video illustrates this topic as a teaser of C’MUN 2017.
