What is Model United Nations?
| March 25, 2019
This video was made to bring awareness of MUN among students who had never heard of it as part of C’MUN 2019 promotion campaign. Model United Nations, also known as MUN, is an educational simulation in which students work as representatives of countries or organizations to debate and solve a particular problem or conflict alongside other delegates. Delegates must undertake study before the conference and write a position paper and policy suggestions that they will discuss with other delegates in their committee. Delegates vote on policy proposals, known as draft resolutions, at the end of a conference, with the intention of passing them with a majority vote. MUN is useful to learn about research, public speaking, debating, and writing abilities, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership.
